Yew Wood Branch Junction Altar Board – Multi-Function Pendulum, Tarot & Ritual Surface (Fibonacci Sunflower Design)
A handcrafted yew wood altar board made from a naturally formed branch junction section, where two limbs meet the main trunk. The organic shape has been intentionally preserved, retaining its uneven edges and natural surface texture, creating a highly tactile, one-of-a-kind ritual piece.
Rather than forcing full refinement, the natural contours of the wood have been respected, allowing the grain, bark transitions, and irregular edges to remain part of the design.
Material & Craftsmanship
Made from yew wood, this piece carries strong natural character through its branching form and visible growth structure. The junction point of the wood creates a naturally sculptural base, making each angle of the board unique and non-replicable.
The surface has been partially refined for functional use while maintaining raw texture where the material resisted full smoothing, preserving its natural identity.
The board is designed to be hangable when not in use, making it suitable for compact living spaces, studio environments, or portable spiritual setups.
Multi-Function Design Layout
This is a multi-purpose ritual surface combining several working areas:
* One branch features an A–Z pendulum divination layout with a central geometric design
* The opposite branch includes a dedicated card slot, designed to hold a single tarot card or daily draw card as a focal point
* The main trunk section features a second pendulum layout with Yes / No / Maybe / Rephrase guidance, centred around a sunflower motif with a Fibonacci spiral
Together, these zones create a flexible working surface for divination, reflection, and daily practice.
Incense & Ritual Integration
At the natural junction where the branches meet, two drilled points allow for incense placement, integrating scent, atmosphere, and ritual focus directly into the structure of the wood.
Mineral Inlay Detail
At the bottom of the board are three discreet inlay points featuring iron, copper, blue kyanite and selenite. These are incorporated as a grounding and symbolic foundation element within the piece.
* Blue Kyanite – a striking aluminium silicate mineral known for its blade-like crystal formation and vivid blue colouring.
* Selenite – a transparent crystalline variety of gypsum prized for its luminous appearance and natural crystal structure.
* Iron and Copper Granules – two metals historically valued across cultures for their practical, artistic, and symbolic significance.
Three small mineral and metal inlays have been incorporated into the design, each chosen for their traditional associations within contemporary spiritual practice. Iron has long been linked with protection, grounding, and resilience, while copper is often regarded as a conductor and amplifier, symbolically associated with energy flow and connection. Selenite is commonly used as a cleansing stone and is often included in spiritual spaces to represent clarity and renewal. Blue kyanite is valued for its calming presence and is frequently associated with balance, communication, and harmonious energy. Together, these materials create a symbolic blend of grounding, amplification, clarity, and balance within the board’s design.
These natural inclusions add texture, contrast, and visual interest, creating a unique piece where wood, stone, and metal are brought together in a single design.
