Hiring my services.

I offer prop making, big builds, custom stone carving and creative workshops. Whether you have a developed brief or an idea you would like to explore, please get in touch so we can discuss what is possible and the right approach for your project.

Any additional person booked to work alongside me will come from the Nucleus Arts team and will have their own DBS checks and supporting paperwork.

Prop making and big builds

My prop making and big-build services start from £35 per hour, with a project-specific quote. The use of my existing tools by me is included as part of the service; this is not a separate tool-hire service.

My usual working hours for big builds, prop making and community work are 9am to 5pm. Timings and working arrangements can be discussed to suit the project’s needs and available budget.

Your quote will depend on:

  • The project brief, scale and intended use
  • The complexity of the design and the time required
  • Materials, including whether you provide them or I source them
  • Any additional tools or specialist equipment needed
  • Whether you provide a suitable build space or one needs to be arranged
  • The location and travel arrangements

Materials, additional equipment and travel are considered separately from the starting hourly rate and discussed as part of your quote.

For prop making and big-build projects, I am happy to negotiate a monthly rate starting from £1,500, depending on the work required and the organisation booking my services. Half of the agreed monthly service fee is payable upfront, alongside the agreed materials budget.

For big-build projects, clients need to read and sign my working contract, which is included on my Terms of Service page.

Stone carving

I offer custom carving in a variety of stones, with each project quoted individually. Please share your ideas, reference images, approximate dimensions and intended use so we can explore the design and suitable materials together.

Pricing depends on the type and availability of stone, any sourcing or importing required, the size and complexity of the piece, and the time needed to carve and finish it.

Creative workshops

Workshop bookings start from £250 per day, with a tailored quote depending on the activity, session duration, group size, materials, staffing and location.

A standard workshop day runs from 9am to 5pm, with setup and cleanup included within that booked time rather than added outside it. The timetable will allow time for these tasks, so the full day is not continuous workshop delivery. Different timings can be discussed to suit the needs of your booking.

Please let me know whether materials will be provided by the organiser or need to be sourced by me. Preparation, setup, cleanup, additional staffing and travel are considered when preparing the quote, with costs discussed before booking.

I can discuss small-group and classroom-sized workshops. For larger groups, I would bring a second person to help support the session and assist with setup and cleanup. Group size and supervision arrangements are agreed with the organiser before confirmation, taking account of the participants, activity and setting.

I encourage workshop enquiries through Nucleus Arts, supporting its community arts and mental health work. Private workshop enquiries are also welcome.

I particularly enjoy supporting school and college students working towards arts awards or creative portfolios. Please get in touch to discuss artist talks, questions about creative practice or a workshop suited to your students.

Off-site work and travel

I am available for off-site projects and workshops at locations accessible by public transport. I do not drive, so the venue, timings and transport of any tools or materials need to be discussed before a booking is confirmed.

What to include in your enquiry

You do not need to have every detail worked out, but the following information helps me give you useful advice and prepare a quote:

  • A description of your project or workshop idea and its intended purpose
  • Reference images, approximate dimensions or proposed participant numbers, as appropriate
  • Your preferred dates, deadline and location
  • Your approximate budget and any relevant funding arrangements
  • Whether materials and a suitable working space will be provided
  • For workshops, the participants’ age range and any access or support needs to discuss
