Powdered Satin Spar Selenite Pigment – Reclaimed Mineral Waste from Jewellery Making
Breathe light into your art and spiritual practices with this ethically reclaimed powdered satin spar selenite. This shimmering, soft white pigment is created from the offcuts and fragments left over from my handmade jewellery work—no piece is wasted, every grain repurposed with care.

Crushed by hand and sifted into a fine powder, this pigment carries both a natural elegance and a potent spiritual frequency, making it ideal for resin art, mixed media, ritual tools, or pigment-based inlay and sacred craftwork.

Scientific Composition:
Mineral Group: Gypsum family (variety of selenite)
Chemical Formula: CaSO₄·2H₂O (Calcium Sulfate Dihydrate)
Hardness: 2 on the Mohs scale – very soft, handle with care.
Lustre: Silky, fibrous with a gentle natural shimmer
Structure: Typically forms in long, fibrous wands with internal “glow”
Solubility: Slightly water soluble – not suitable for water-based mediums without sealant
This form of gypsum is known for its soft, pearlescent shimmer and translucent fibres—hence the name satin spar. Unlike transparent flat selenite plates, satin spar has a fibrous glow and is often mistaken for its cousin.

Spiritual Symbolism & Use:
Cleansing & Clarity: Satin spar is deeply connected to cleansing, light, and energetic renewal. Use the powder to create tools or artworks designed for aura cleansing or clearing stagnant energy.
Crown Chakra Activation: Often linked to the crown chakra, satin spar is thought to aid spiritual connection, enhance intuition, and support meditative or visionary work.
Amplifier Stone: Much like quartz, satin spar is believed to amplify intentions and other crystals’ properties, making this pigment ideal in mixed spiritual blends.
Gentle Protection: It brings a calm, purifying energy into sacred space, making it suitable for altar decor, amulets, or spell jars focused on peace, clarity, and higher guidance.

Perfect For:
Resin art, pigment inlay, or sealing into talismans and ritual tools
Mixing with clay or natural binders for texture-rich art pieces
Spiritual or ceremonial artworks where light and clarity are the focus
Eco-conscious creators wanting to use salvaged, meaningful materials

Note: Due to the softness of this mineral, some dust may form in transit, it’s advised a dust mask may be useful when handling to avoid inhalation. Handle with care and store away from moisture. Not for internal or cosmetic use. Avoid long-term exposure to water or humid environments as gypsum is water-sensitive.
