Reclaimed Hardwood Flower of Life Pocket Incense & Offering Holder – Travel Ritual Tool

A tiny handmade incense and offering holder designed for those who like to take their practice outdoors without carrying bulky ritual equipment.

Made from unidentified reclaimed hardwood, this compact holder is approximately the size of a large key ring, making it easy to slip into a pocket, backpack, handbag or van-life kit.

The hardwood came from a mixed offcuts box purchased from a woodturner’s mill that I regularly source leftover timber from. I deliberately leave the species unidentified rather than guessing — the important part is that this useful piece of timber has been given another life rather than becoming waste.

Laser engraved across the top is a Flower of Life geometric design. The pattern is created from overlapping circles arranged into a symmetrical repeating form and is widely associated today with sacred geometry, meditation and spiritual practice.

Geometric patterns such as circles, symmetry and repeating forms have appeared in art and architecture across many cultures and periods. The modern spiritual interpretation of the Flower of Life gives the pattern associations with interconnection, balance, creation and the underlying patterns of nature.

The holder incorporates a small hand-chiselled offering bowl, suitable for small non-burning offerings as part of your own ritual practice.

A braided jute cord allows the holder to be hung when not in use or attached to a bag using your own small carabiner or clip.

Reclaimed & Offcut Wood

I work extensively with waste, reclaimed timber and offcuts, both from my own studio and from other craftspeople.

This particular piece began life as an offcut in a woodturner’s mill. Rather than trying to identify the species when there isn’t enough information to do so reliably, I have kept it simply as unidentified reclaimed hardwood.

Natural variations in grain, colour, knots and markings are therefore expected and form part of the character of each individual holder.

Important Fire Safety

This holder is made from wood and must be treated accordingly.

If using incense outdoors, keep burning incense, hot ash and embers completely separate from dry grass, leaves, twigs, paper, dry offerings and other flammable materials. Do not place burning material or embers into the offering bowl alongside dry objects.

Do not use burning incense during heatwaves, drought conditions, fire bans or periods of increased wildfire risk. Always follow local restrictions and conditions. During high-risk conditions, the holder can instead be used for non-burning offerings, meditation or as part of a portable altar.

Never leave burning incense unattended and make sure all embers are completely extinguished before packing the holder away.
