A handmade tulipwood pendulum board featuring a sunflower and Fibonacci sequence design, combining natural timber, botanical pattern and a practical layout for pendulum work.
The central design brings together the sunflower and Fibonacci sequence, inspired by the fascinating relationship between mathematical patterns and natural growth.
Sunflowers are a well-known example of phyllotaxis — the arrangement of seeds within the flower head. The spiralling patterns can often produce relationships between neighbouring Fibonacci numbers, creating an intriguing visual connection between mathematics and the natural world.
The board includes an A–Z alphabet and 0–10 number sequence, with Yes, No, Maybe and Rephrase positioned in the corners. These provide a straightforward starting point for asking questions while still allowing you to develop your own method of working with the board.
A small incense-stick hole has been drilled into the board, allowing it to be incorporated into meditation or ritual practice when appropriate.
A braided jute cord is fitted through a drilled hole, allowing the board to be hung safely out of the way when not in use or attached to a carabiner for carrying while travelling, hiking or camping.
Tulipwood
Tulipwood has a naturally distinctive appearance, with warm colouring and contrasting grain that gives each piece its own character. The natural timber provides an earthy backdrop for the botanical and mathematical design.
Natural wood varies from piece to piece, so differences in grain, colour, markings and tone are part of the individuality of each board.
