Sweet Chestnut Pocket Incense & Offering Holder – Travel Ritual & Outdoor Altar

A tiny handmade ritual tool for those who like to take their practice outdoors without carrying a bulky collection of altar equipment.

Made from sweet chestnut, this little incense and offering holder is approximately the size of a large key ring, making it small enough to slip into a pocket, backpack, handbag or van-life kit. It is designed for outdoor meditation, personal rituals, nature offerings and quiet moments away from home — particularly useful when travelling light is important.

The top has been laser engraved with the phases of the Moon, giving the piece a simple celestial detail while complementing its use in personal ritual and nature-based practice.

A small hand-chiselled bowl has been created within the wood for holding small offerings. The bowl can be used as part of your own ritual practice, whether that means a tiny natural offering, a few grains or herbs, or another appropriate offering chosen according to your own tradition.

A braided jute cord is attached, allowing you to add a small carabiner or clip it to your bag, belt or other equipment. It can also be hung out of the way when setting up a temporary altar or ritual space.

Small enough to go anywhere

Designed with portability in mind, this is particularly suited to:

* Outdoor rituals and meditation
* Nature-based and ancestral practices
* Travelling and camping
* Van life and small living spaces
* Temporary altars
* Festivals and retreats
* Anyone who simply doesn’t want to carry bulky ritual equipment

Its compact size means you can take a small piece of your personal practice with you without needing to pack a full altar.

Important outdoor fire safety

This is a wooden item and must be treated accordingly.

If using incense outdoors, make sure burning incense and falling embers are kept completely separate from dry leaves, grass, twigs, wood, paper and other flammable materials. Do not place burning embers or ash into the offering bowl alongside dry offerings.

Do not use this holder during heatwaves, drought conditions, fire bans or periods of increased wildfire/bushfire risk. Local restrictions should always take priority. In very dry conditions, consider using the holder for non-burning offerings or meditation instead.

Never leave burning incense unattended and ensure all embers are completely extinguished before packing the holder away.

Because this is made from natural wood, each piece will have its own grain, colour, knots and small natural markings. These variations are part of the character of the timber and make every holder slightly different.

A tiny altar tool for big journeys — because your ritual practice doesn’t have to stay at home just because your altar does.
