A handmade sapele mahogany pendulum board featuring a sunflower and Fibonacci sequence design, created from reclaimed wood offcuts and designed for both home and portable spiritual practice.
The central design combines the sunflower with the Fibonacci sequence, bringing together botanical growth and mathematical pattern.
Sunflowers provide one of nature’s most recognisable examples of phyllotaxis — the arrangement of seeds within a flower head. The spiralling patterns formed by the seeds can often produce relationships between neighbouring Fibonacci numbers, creating an intriguing connection between mathematics and natural growth.
The design therefore celebrates nature, cycles, growth and the patterns that emerge through biological processes, while providing an unusual visual centre for pendulum work.
The board includes an A–Z alphabet and 0–10 number sequence, with Yes, No, Maybe and Rephrase response points positioned in the corners. This gives you a straightforward layout for asking questions while still leaving room to develop your own way of working with the board.
A small incense-stick hole has been drilled into the board, allowing it to be incorporated into meditation or ritual practice when appropriate.
A braided jute cord is fitted through a drilled hole, allowing the board to be hung safely out of the way when not in use or attached to a carabiner for carrying while travelling, hiking or camping.
Made from Reclaimed Timber
The sapele mahogany came from a wood offcuts box, giving a useful piece of timber another life rather than allowing it to become waste.
Sapele is known for its warm reddish-brown colouring and distinctive grain, which can include attractive interlocking or ribbon-like patterns. Because this board is made from reclaimed timber, natural variations in grain, colour and markings are part of its character.
