A Connection to Nature's Wisdom:
Yew wood is revered for its deep connection to nature and its symbolism of strength, longevity, and resilience. As you wear this pendant, let it serve as a reminder of your own journey and the lessons learned along the way. Like the ancient yew tree, may you draw strength from the earth beneath your feet and find guidance in the wisdom of the natural world.
Local Beauty, Local Care: As advocates of sustainability and community, we take pride in our commitment to local artisans. To complement the linseed oil finish, we adorn our pendants with a coating of Brays Bees cream polish, thoughtfully created by nearby beekeepers. This local touch not only enriches the wood's natural allure but also supports local businesses, creating a harmonious blend of craftsmanship and care.
It's important to note that yew wood contains toxic compounds, particularly in its leaves, seeds, and bark, including taxine alkaloids. While the wood itself is generally considered safe for crafting, it's crucial to handle it with care and avoid contact with the mouth or ingestion. Therefore, yew wood pendants should not be put into the mouth, ingested, or given to minors under 18 years old. As the seller, I cannot accept responsibility for any misuse or mishandling of yew wood pendants. It's always advisable to keep such items out of reach of children and to exercise caution when storing them them in your home. They are not advised for any one with neurodivergence that like to chew on things.
Ingesting parts of the yew tree, such as the leaves, seeds, or bark, can lead to severe poisoning. Yew contains toxic compounds called taxine alkaloids, which can affect the heart, nervous system, and gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms of yew poisoning may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, difficulty breathing, seizures, and potentially fatal heart rhythm disturbances. Ingesting even small amounts of yew plant material can be dangerous and may require immediate medical attention. It's essential to seek emergency medical care if ingestion of yew is suspected.
