Oak Dowsing Pendulum Board – Bumblebee Design, Natural Wood & Mineral Inlay

This handmade dowsing pendulum board is crafted from a natural oak wood slice, with the original bark left around the edge to preserve the character of the wood. The surface features a laser-printed bumblebee design, bringing a touch of nature and symbolism to a practical divination tool.

The reverse of the board features a handmade dot inlay containing iron shavings, black tourmaline, smoky quartz, satin spar, and copper flakes. Together, these contrasting natural materials create a distinctive tactile detail and give the board a second layer of mineral and elemental character.

A natural jute cord has been fitted through the board so it can be hung on a wall or hook when not being used, making it practical for smaller spaces or personal altar areas.

The Bumblebee

Bees have long held symbolic associations with community, cooperation, productivity, fertility, and the natural cycles of the seasons. Their role as pollinators also makes them an enduring symbol of connection between plants, landscapes, and living systems.

For those drawn to nature-based spirituality, the bumblebee can represent purposeful work, persistence, and the importance of contributing to something larger than oneself.

The Mineral Inlay

The reverse combines several natural materials, each with its own character and traditional associations.

Black tourmaline and smoky quartz are commonly associated within crystal traditions with grounding, stability, and protection. Satin spar is often used symbolically for cleansing and clarity, while copper has a long history of use as both a practical metal and a material associated with conductivity and connection.

The iron shavings add an earthy metallic element to the composition, creating a visual contrast with the minerals and wood.

About the Oak

Oak has a long-standing place in European folklore and traditional culture, often associated with strength, endurance, longevity, and protection. Its dense grain and natural durability also make it a beautiful material for a board intended to be used repeatedly.

The original bark has been retained around the edge, meaning the board remains visibly connected to the tree from which the wood came.

The oak is currently darker due to the natural waxes and oils used during finishing. As the wood ages and is exposed to normal light and handling, its colour can gradually lighten and develop its own patina.

Using Your Pendulum Board

Dowsing and pendulum work have been used in various forms as methods of personal divination and reflection. Different practitioners approach these tools in different ways, so there is no single required method of use.

This board can be incorporated into your own practice according to your preferences and traditions. Take time to research pendulum work and its history before using the board, particularly if you are new to divination.

As with any spiritual or divination tool, it is best approached thoughtfully and responsibly rather than as a substitute for professional advice or evidence-based decision making.
