Larvikite Bead Bracelet – Handmade Macramé Natural Stone Jewellery
This handmade bracelet features 10 small 6mm larvikite beads woven into a macramé style design using durable braided cord.
The dark grey tones of the stone are complemented by subtle flashes of silver and blue, which catch the light and reveal the unique character hidden within each bead.
These beads were personally sourced during my travels around New Zealand before being transformed into a handmade bracelet.
About Larvikite
Larvikite is an igneous rock composed primarily of feldspar minerals and is named after the Larvik region of Norway where it was first identified.
It is prized for the subtle flashes of silver, blue, and grey that appear when light reflects from the feldspar crystals within the stone. This optical effect gives larvikite a distinctive appearance that is appreciated by both stone collectors and jewellery makers.
Formed from slowly cooling magma deep within the Earth, larvikite carries a geological history that stretches back millions of years before eventually becoming a wearable piece of natural art.
Symbolism and spiritual traditions
Within crystal and spiritual traditions, larvikite is often associated with grounding, insight, adaptability, and personal growth.
Many people are drawn to the stone’s hidden flashes of colour as a symbolic reminder that there is often more beneath the surface than first appears.
