This roimata-style pendant unites two of Britain’s most ancient materials — Fenland Bog Oak and Avebury Sarsen Stone — each carrying the deep memory of the land itself.

Hand-carved from 5,000-year-old oak reclaimed from the Fenlands of eastern England, the pendant holds a fine dot inlay of Avebury Sarsen, fixed with clear UV resin to preserve its natural contrast.
Together, they represent the meeting of wood and stone, earth and spirit, living and enduring — a talisman for those who walk between the material and the ancestral worlds.

The roimata (meaning “tear drop” in Māori tradition) symbolises release, healing, and empathy. In this form, it becomes a bridge between cultures — a shape of compassion crafted from the bones of Britain.

🌳 Spirit & Significance

Bog Oak, born of peat and time, is the voice of the land’s deep roots — a material of endurance, transformation, and shadow wisdom. It embodies the Earth element, anchoring the wearer in patience and grounded power.

The Sarsen, drawn from Avebury’s sacred stone circle, embodies stability, guardianship, and ancient resonance. It’s a relic of ritual and alignment, the silent watcher of solstices and stars.

Together, they carry the energy of protection through remembrance — an amulet of ancient Britain reborn through modern hands.

⚒️ Craft & Material

• Hand-carved Fenland Bog Oak, carbon-dated to ~5,000 years old
• Inlay: Avebury Sarsen Stone, set with clear UV resin
• Finish: Waxed by hand with a walnut oil and bees wax blend for a natural satin sheen
• Shape: Roimata / Teardrop pendant, polished and sealed
• Suspension: Drilled for cord or chain (can be adjusted for custom fittings)
• Each piece unique in wood grain, tone, and inlay pattern

🧭 Geology & Science

Bog Oak:
• Age: ~3,000–5,000 years
• Species: Quercus robur (English Oak)
• Preservation: Anaerobic peat bogs slow decay, mineralising the wood
• Density: ~1.2 g/cm³, darker with higher tannin concentration

Sarsen Stone:
• Type: Silcrete (cemented quartz sand)
• Composition: Primarily silica (SiO₂) with trace iron oxides
• Hardness: ~7 Mohs
• Formation: Upper Paleogene, weathered sandstone hardened by silica precipitation
• Source: Avebury region, Wiltshire, England

These two materials — one born of water and earth, the other of sand and sky — carry a full elemental balance within a single form.

• Perfect for druidic, pagan, and earth-based spiritual paths
• Symbol of balance between life and death, decay and renewal
