✨ Polishing Pāua Shell
Pāua shell can be easily polished at home to enhance its natural colours. Start with wet sanding at around 250 grit, then gradually work your way up through finer grades until 3000 grit. Always use water while sanding to prevent heat build-up and protect the shell. For extra shine, finish with a resin-based polishing compound, which brings out the rainbow iridescence and creates a smooth, high-lustre surface.
