Hi! I’m Kerrie! It’s nice to meet you!

Welcome to my creative world! I am an independent freelancer, a true Renaissance soul with a passion for bringing ideas to life. As a versatile artist and crafts person, I wear many hats - from stone carving and metal casting to illustration, prop making, set design, and even workshop facilitation. I embrace a unique path of self-discovery, opting for self-teaching, evening classes, and learning on my own terms. My artistic journey is fueled by hard work and dedication, constantly pushing boundaries and embracing the unconventional. I thrive on challenges, especially those that demand boundless creativity. The arts grant me the incredible opportunity to authentically express myself and revel in the freedom it offers. I march to the beat of my own drum, avoiding societal norms, trends, and the masses. Let's embark on an extraordinary adventure together!

New Zealand Pounamu

I proudly stock New Zealand Pounamu. Through meaningful connections with suppliers in New Zealand, particularly within the Ngati Tahu tribe, I source raw stone that's then skillfully hand-carved in my Chatham-based studio. Any pre-carved pieces I acquire are carefully selected pre-loved/second hand for refurbishment, ensuring they find a new and cherished home. If you desire a Māori blessing for your piece, I'm well-connected with the UK-based ex-pat Māori community and can facilitate that for you. And if you happen to have a raw piece from your travels that needs drilling or carving, feel free to reach out. I'll do my best to assist you."

New Zealand Greenstone

Fossils with a twist.

Exclusivity defined. These fossils are meticulously hand-carved in my private studio, tailored to complement a wide range of styles. Whether it's the warmth of Amber, the intricate beauty of Ammonite, the sleek elegance of Belemnite, or the timeless allure of fossil bedrock, each piece is a distinctive work of art that sparks conversations.

Fossil Jewellery

Up-cycled shells.

From NZ Pāua to abalone shell, and the timeless elegance of mother of Pearl, every shell in my collection has a history, having been cherished in its previous life before finding a new purpose in my creations. Transformed into jewelry that captivates with its iridescent hues, these pieces are bound to draw both admiration and compliments for their unique colours and patterns.

Metal castings.

Exploring the world of metal castings is a passion of mine. I employ the meticulous Delft clay casting process, working with a range of metals including fine silver, 925 sterling silver, eco silver, and pewter. While I've even dabbled in gold in the past, my heart truly lies in crafting fossil replicas – it's my absolute favorite aspect of working with metal. That said, I'm always open to new creative journeys and eager to experiment with different designs.

Carved wood

Looking for a lighter touch than stone? Wood is the ideal choice. Sourced from offcuts of fellow creatives and skilled carpenters, including well-preserved ancient woods and locally-sourced varieties. Each piece is meticulously treated with beeswax sourced from a cherished local small business. For those on a spiritual journey, these woods often carry a connection to ancient eras and the vital energies of nature just as well a any stone.

Do we do stone carving workshops?

It’s some thing we are working on. We have done a couple of taster sessions, we have bought the insurance. We are just working on our pricing and risk assessments around current projects at the moment. So bare with us, it’s all in the works.
