welcome to - Kerrie Owens Arts -

Crafted from the sacred oak and yew wood, these shavings offer a unique and sustainable option for spells, rituals, and spiritual practices. Sourced from the byproduct of my jewellery design and carving work, each shaving embodies the essence of the ancient oak and yew trees, revered for its mystical properties and deep spiritual significance. While there may be small amounts of other wood shavings mixed in, rest assured that the majority of the shavings are pure mix of yew and oak wood, carefully collected to minimise waste in my studio. With each purchase, you will receive the entire amount of shavings I have collected, allowing you to harness the potent energy of yew and oak wood in your spiritual endeavours without the hassle of weighing or measuring. Embrace the power of nature and the wisdom of the ancients as you incorporate these oak wood shavings into your sacred practices, rituals, and ceremonies.

The combination of oak and yew wood shavings offers a unique blend of energies and properties, merging the sacred symbolism and spiritual significance of two revered woods. Oak, revered in Celtic and pagan traditions as a symbol of strength, wisdom, and protection, brings its grounding and protective qualities to the mix. Yew, known for its association with longevity, transformation, and ancestral wisdom, adds a depth of spiritual insight and connection to the energies of the natural world. Together, these woods create a harmonious blend that can enhance rituals, spells, and spiritual practices, offering a balance of stability, resilience, and spiritual growth. Whether used for cleansing rituals, spell work, or altar adornments, the oak and yew wood shavings embody the ancient wisdom of the earth and invite practitioners to tap into the timeless energies of the natural world to manifest their intentions and connect with the sacred rhythms of life.

It's important to note that yew wood contains toxic compounds, particularly in its leaves, seeds, and bark, including taxine alkaloids. While the wood itself is generally considered safe for crafting, it's crucial to handle it with care and avoid contact with the mouth or ingestion. Therefore, yew wood pendants should not be put into the mouth, ingested, or given to minors under 18 years old. As the seller, I cannot accept responsibility for any misuse or mishandling of yew wood coming out of my studio. My intent behind the wood is for spells, rituals, spiritual practices, camping tinder and other craft work. It's always advisable to keep such items out of reach of children and to exercise caution when storing them them in your home. They are not advised for any one with neurodivergence that like to chew on things.

Ingesting parts of the yew tree, such as the leaves, seeds, or bark, can lead to severe poisoning. Yew contains toxic compounds called taxine alkaloids, which can affect the heart, nervous system, and gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms of yew poisoning may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, dizziness, difficulty breathing, seizures, and potentially fatal heart rhythm disturbances. Ingesting even small amounts of yew plant material can be dangerous and may require immediate medical attention. It's essential to seek emergency medical care if ingestion of yew is suspected.
