** Made to Order ** Original not available.

This pendant is part of my evolving Tribal Fusion collection, a blend of ancestral material and cultural shape symbolism. Now available as a made-to-order piece, each pendant is crafted from responsibly sourced Fenland bog oak—a wood steeped in ancient history and rich with natural energy.

Step into the depths of time with our meticulously crafted Hei Toki adze pendant, hewn from ancient oak sourced from the fenlands of East Anglia. With an estimated age of 2000-5000 years, this oak carries the whispers of centuries, grounding the wearer in the wisdom of the ages. The intricate Māori design transforms the pendant into a symbol of strength, endurance, and connection to the land. With a twist combining Māori with a wood that was alive with world of the British celts.

Bog Oak's Spiritual Resonance:
Bog Oak, with its roots buried in the mysterious depths of ancient wetlands, holds a unique spiritual resonance. Forged by nature's alchemy over thousands of years, this wood emerges with a deep connection to the earth's cycles and the eons that have passed. Each whorl and grain becomes a testament to the passage of time, embodying the wisdom and energy accumulated throughout the ages. The Bog Oak, once part of a thriving forest, carries the whispers of the past, making it a conduit for ancestral energies and grounding the wearer in the spiritual essence of the natural world. As it adorns the neck, it weaves a tale of resilience, transformation, and the enduring beauty found in the embrace of time's gentle touch.

Pounamu's Profound Significance:

Serpentine, a prominent component of the New Zealand Pounamu greenstone, holds profound spiritual significance. Revered for its soothing energy, serpentine is believed to instill a sense of inner peace and balance. Embodying the power of transformation, this stone is thought to assist in shedding old patterns and embracing positive change. In the context of our hand-carved bog oak pendant, the serpentine inlay not only adds a captivating aesthetic dimension but also invites the wearer to connect with the elemental energies of nature, fostering a harmonious balance between the physical and spiritual realms.

Origin and Hei Toki Significance:
Sourced from the fenlands of East Anglia, the oak's journey transforms into a Māori masterpiece with the Hei Toki adze design. The Hei Toki, symbolizing strength and determination, resonates deeply with Māori culture. Crafted into the shape of an adze axe head, it embodies not just a tool but a connection to the land, echoing the ancestral spirit of the Māori people.

Made to Order:
As part of my new made-to-order service, each pendant will be handcrafted from a unique cut of bog oak—shaped, polished, and finished by hand in my home studio. Expect slight natural variations in the grain and colour, honouring the raw authenticity of each piece.

Waxed Nylon Cord for Versatility:
Suspended from a waxed nylon cord, this pendant offers versatility in wear, allowing you to adjust it to your preferred length. The waxed cord symbolizes the interweaving threads of life, echoing the intricate connections between the wearer, the pendant, and the ancient oak's storied past. Wear it with pride, knowing that this piece is not just an accessory but a tangible link to the enduring spirit of both the fenlands and New Zealand's rich cultural heritage.

This item is made to order, meaning each piece is individually crafted and may require additional time for materials to be sourced. If specific characteristics—such as a certain grain pattern in wood or a particular shade in stone—are important to you, I’m happy to work with you to create a piece that best suits your preferences. Due to the natural variation in materials, no two pieces will ever be identical; differences in color, grain, patina, or inclusions make each one completely unique. The photos provided are examples of previous work in this shape and style, but the final piece may vary slightly in size by a millimeter or two. If you have any custom requests or specific requirements, feel free to reach out—I’ll do my best to accommodate them!

Local Beauty, Local Care: As advocates of sustainability and community, we take pride in our commitment to local artisans. To complement the linseed oil finish, we adorn our pendants with a coating of Brays Bees cream polish, thoughtfully created by nearby beekeepers. This local touch not only enriches the wood's natural allure but also supports local businesses, creating a harmonious blend of craftsmanship and care.
